The essay began with the author’s recollection of being urged to embrace cryptocurrency because it was presented as the future of money. The response was to wait for lower volatility, easier operation and greater reliability. In the author’s view, messages suggesting that skeptics would miss out were designed to create anxiety rather than demonstrate practical value.
