Nigerian Army troops rescued 23 passengers after armed men attacked travellers on the Ayegunle–Bunu Road in Kogi State, according to security sources quoted by Daily Post Nigeria. Two people were found dead and five others injured at the scene.
The assault occurred at about 3:30 a.m. on Monday in Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area. The sources said suspected kidnappers blocked the route, attacked road users and took several passengers away.
